What do pop diva Christina Aguilera, genre-bending guitarist Wyclef Jean and pop-punk rockers Yellowcard have in common?
They were all introduced at this year's Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California, as featured artists in Shure’s new Blue Couch advertising campaign.
“The ads feature some of our artist endorsers sitting on the Shure Blue Couch,” said Terri Hartman, Director of Marketing Communications for Shure. “The campaign was created to showcase Shure’s professional products and the diverse group of artist endorsers who use them. We’re really excited about this program and we hope that our customers will be, too.”
So, you might be asking yourself, “Why a blue couch? What does it mean? What does it symbolize?”
“By their very definition as artists, Shure endorsers are a varied and complex group,” added Hartman. “Their one point of commonality, however, is their true blue loyalty to Shure products. It doesn't define them…it unifies them. The blue couch symbolizes the artist's true blue loyalty to Shure and captures their unwillingness to perform with anything else. They won't go on till Shure goes on.”
In addition to the new Blue Couch ads, Shure has added new, exclusive content to its website as part of the new campaign.
“We’ve also introduced a new Artist Relations section on our website,” added Hartman. “The Eagles of Death Metal were our first featured group and now it’s Wyclef Jean. The content in this new section presents a more unique, in-depth look at our artists, which we hope will give visitors to our site a more personalized experience with our endorsers. They’re talking about their music, what inspires them, their influences…they’re not just talking about their microphones.”

So, who’ll be sitting on the Blue Couch next?
“You’ll just have to wait and see,” said Hartman.
