The Emerging Church: Gear on the Go

Some have called it the most important revolution in recent times since the Jesus Movement of the 1970s. Whether you call it the Emerging Church, the Liquid Church, the Post-Modern Church, the Porta-Church or the Church in a Box, you are going to be presented with some special challenges if you’re in charge of sound.

In this issue, we’ll talk about the imperatives of a portable sound system and what you need to get started or build on what you’ve got. We’ve also tapped the expertise of two sound companies dedicated to the idea that “the church” is people and not a place — and that, whether worship takes place outdoors, in a shopping mall or in a high school gym, there are sound considerations.

Thinking about taking it to the streets? Let’s go!
